The CHCA Beak Squad Competed at Worlds!
After a successful spring season, the CHCA Robotics team qualified for Worlds, which was held in Houston, TX beginning April 21. They competed among 400 teams from across the globe at the FIRST Robotics World Championship!
The Beak Squad did well and were selected to be the alliance partner of one of the best teams in the competition for the final day. They won the semifinals and finished in the top 20 robots at Worlds, losing by only one point.
“The students represented CHCA with a level of excellence that the most elite schools rarely achieve,” shared CHCA parent leader Christy Hansell. “These students are truly exceptional.”
In addition to this great accomplishment, the Beak Squad received a sponsorship from Ethicon this year. Ethicon supports FIRST robotics based on the data that has shown that the people they hire with FRC experience are promoted four times faster. This is a strong demonstration of how valuable the learnings are from this excellent program.
Beak Squad members are: Samantha Bennett, Andrew Coors, Kaveri Easwaran, Josh Eng, Matthew Hansell, Sophia Iskandar, Parker Johnson, Preston McCoy, Bianca Olea, Samantha Parker, Carson Rueter, Will Rueter, Luke Sikkema, Colin Swayze, Austin Tran, and Nick Wickler.
