Show Description

This production is designed to give opportunities to students in grades 7-12 who want to experience something new in theatre! It is a great chance for grades 7-12 to collaborate, grow, and have a blast doing it! The One Act is a “theatrical concert” and features a variety of scenes and songs from various sources.

Grades 7-9 have the opportunity to perform material that will prepare them for the challenges of the US main stage productions.
Grades 10-12 expand their skill set in areas such as lighting, designing, stage management and other technical areas.
Grades 11-12 will take on a director role, learning how to run rehearsals, block scenes, and direct actors.

Audition Information (Gr 7-9)

Auditions are required for all cast roles. You must complete all online UltraCamp registration steps PRIOR TO audition.
Auditions will be in the Lindner Theater - please plan to stay for the whole time.
Students will do cold readings from various scripts and may be asked to sing.

Write your Cast Bio using the Bio Instructions examples (give your write-up to whomever will do Step #2).
Complete the online registration. This single registration handles your ARSA (Audition Request and Student Agreement) including Bio, and payment of all production fees, and Parent Volunteer forms.

Information for Gr 10-12

Parent Information

Decide who should receive important communications regarding your student and the production and enter their emails during registration.
Mandatory Show Fees: 
- CAST GR 7-9:
  - $50 (Includes costume fee and production t-shirt).
  - The annual Fine Arts fee of $125 is waived for this production.
  - Unlike most productions, all show fees are paid for this show at registration.
  - All Gr 7-9 cast members must sell 12 tickets total. Ticket purchases will be ordered and tracked via ShowTix4U (CHCA's online box office). If the ticket sales requirement is not met by the deadline, you must pay for unsold tickets up to 12 at the $8 rate.
- DIRECTORS GR 10-12:
  - No fee; $16 for optional T-shirt
Parent Volunteer: Minimal participation is required and will be communicated via email and SignUpGenius
Note: There is no post-audition parent meeting for this production.

Rehearsal Information

Rehearsal schedule varies around conflicts. Most will be after school. Cast and Student Production Team (SPT) members are expected to attend all required rehearsals.
Rehearsals will be scheduled by individual directors who will communicate these with cast and parents.
If you MUST miss a rehearsal (other than dates specified during your registration), you MUST notify your student director BEFORE the fact. Do not send messages with other cast members and/or friends as that method is unreliable. Multiple absences may jeopardize your role even if they are prearranged and excused.
Tech Rehearsal - no conflicts allowed.

Cast announced: TBD
Rehearsal: Scheduled individually with student directors. Final schedule emailed to students and parents by individual directors.
Program Ad deadline: 04/09/24
Cast ticket sales deadline: 04/29/24
Dress Rehearsal: 05/06/24, 3:30 - 6:00 p.m. - no conflicts allowed!
Show Performance: 05/07/243
Blu-Ray order deadline: 05/13/24
