Grade 7 Service Intersession is a one-week service immersion experience that includes a team-building program led by Camp Chautauqua staff and service experiences throughout Cincinnati at various non-profit organizations. Students will engage in reflection activities as tools for learning and to enrich the service experience. The Gr 7 Course Description offers more information.
- All activities are in Cincinnati with a variety of on-campus and off-campus locations; transportation is provided when necessary
- Students will spend time in similar, but not identical, service immersions with a variety of Cincinnati organizations
- Students must arrive on time (buses depart shortly after 8:00 a.m.) and will not be available for pick-up before 2:40 p.m.
- Lunch:
- Tuesday - School provides lunch
- Wednesday - School provides lunch
- Thursday - Family provides portable packed lunch
- Friday - School provides lunch
- Tips:
- Review program overview in the Parent Letter.
- Students should bring a reusable water bottle each day
- Student may bring a small backpack/cinch sack each day
- No refrigeration available for packed lunches
- Students should be dressed for hard work, including cloed-toed shoes, with the possibility of getting dirty each day
- Students should report to their SDL classrooms each morning. Please be timely as busses depart shortly after 8:00 a.m.
- Cost: $125 covers activity charges, supplies, 3 lunches, daily snacks, transportation, and activity charges associated with the organizations we serve

Important Dates
- 09/16/22 during SDL – Students review the 4 service choices
- 09/16/22 at 4:00 p.m. - Online Registration opens. Families indicate student service preference during registration.
- 09/30/22 at 11:59 p.m. - Deadline to register online and have student in "round 1" Thursday service placement. Students registering after this deadline will be in "round 2" Thursday service placements.
- 10/15/22 at 11:59 p.m. - Online Registration closes

Important Dates
- 08/10/22 - Course Options announced to current US 8 students and on website
- Starting 08/10/22 at 1:00 p.m. - Online Course Optioning opens
- 08/22/22 (noon) - Deadline to submit printed confirmation email with the required parent signature and be considered on time
- 08/26/22 after 3:00 p.m. - Parents receive email confirmation on tentative student placement and registration opens
- 08/29/22 – Parents receive email with tentative student placement.
- 09/02/22 - Deadline to complete online registration and pay deposit to secure place in assigned course
- Starting 09/10/22 - $25 Late Registration Fee applied to all students who have not completed their online registration
- 09/26/22 - Automatic balance payment for all courses (Reminder sent 10 days prior)

- On-Time deadline to submit signed course options is 08/22/22 by noon.
- Step One: Complete online form to receive confirmation email. If you do not receive it quickly, look in your spam, clutter, junk, etc. folders. If you still cannot find it, repeat this step.
- Step Two: Print, sign and return to school by either turning into Upper 7-8 desk or by scanning and emailing to Intersession@chca-oh.org
