Board of Trustees Ballot 2023
The Board of Trustees’ Semi-Annual CHCA Association Business Meeting will be held on 05/22/23 at 7:00 p.m. in the Armleder Campus Gym. Prior to this meeting the Board is seeking affirmation for the appointment of new members to the Board. Terms are for three years, beginning 07/01/23 and ending 06/30/26. We desire to have full participation in this important process of affirming those whom God would have serve our school in this important role.

Slate of Candidates:
Mianda Bashala
Mianda and her husband, Guy, have three children who attend CHCA: Dimena, Grade 5; Shana, Grade 3; and Tala, Grade 1. Sankia, is in PK3 at LBA. Mianda and her family regularly attend Crossroads Community Church Mason. In the past, Mianda has taught several women’s Bible study courses as she loves teaching and learning from others.
Mianda received her Master of Arts in Human Resources from UC’s Carl H. Lindner College of Business; her Juris Doctorate from Northeastern University School of Law; and her BA in Political Science from University of Massachusetts. She is currently a Labor & Employment Law Associate at Keating, Muething & Klekamp, PLL, where she represents companies/employers in all labor and employment law matters to help minimize liability. In addition, she was an Adjunct Professor at Sinclair Community College for several years where she taught various constitutional law and political science courses.
Her involvement at CHCA has included volunteering to help teachers with several tasks, including helping students go over their sight words (her favorite task), reviewing memory verses, and cleaning and organizing the UE science lab. Prior to COVID she served on the Food Service Committee. Mianda has also worked as a teacher’s aide at CHCA.
Mianda is very detail-oriented and analytical. These strengths, along with her legal expertise and experience as an educator, will be very beneficial in serving on the Board.
David Blessing '97
David ‘97 and his wife, Erica, have two children, Edith in Grade 2 and Drew in Grade 1, both of whom attend Madeira Elementary School. Their family attends All Saints Catholic Church and St. Vincent Ferrer. David graduated from CHCA in 1997. His sister, Wren, graduated in 2001, and his mother, Carol Anne, taught for years at CHCA’s Middle School.
David received an A.B. in History from the College of William & Mary and a JD from the William & Mary School of Law. He is an attorney for Blessing & Wallace Law, LLC, where he manages the business and legal operations of the firm along with representing clients in a variety of civil legal matters.
David will bring legal expertise to the Board. He has practiced civil litigation in state and federal courts for nearly 20 years. The Ohio Supreme Court has appointed David to serve as Vice-President of its Commission on Certification of Attorney as Specialist. He recently finished serving on the Board of Trustees of the Cincinnati Bar Association. He volunteers for the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati’s Volunteer Lawyer Project, and the Hamilton County Probate Court regularly appoints David to serve as Guardian ad Litem for minors in need.
David coached mock trial teams at the University of Cincinnati Law School and Madeira High School. He also served on the CHCA Alumni Board from 2015-2019.
David’s legal background and deep and long-standing ties to CHCA will be an asset to the Board and the CHCA community.
Michael Dantley
Michael and his wife, Carol, have three grown children, two of whom graduated from CHCA: Cameron ’98 and Jonathan ’08. Michael is the Senior Pastor at Christ Emmanuel Christian Fellowship where he has pastored the congregation for 48 years.
Michael received his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati; his M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Miami University; and his B.A. in History and Education from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to pastoring the congregation at Christ Emmanuel Christian Fellowship, he is an Education and Not-for-Profit Organization Leadership Consultant with MED Consultants, LLC.
Early in CHCA’s history, Michael served on the Education Committee as a parent volunteer. He is the former Dean of the Miami University College of Education, Health, and Society and while at Miami, he was also the Chair for Educational Leadership.
Michael will bring to the Board very strong administrative leadership along with community connectedness. These strengths along with his educational background and expertise will be very beneficial in serving on the Board.
Natalie McSwain
Natalie and her husband, Jason, have four children, three of whom have graduated from CHCA: Jason ’18; Anna ’20; and Jeremy ’22. Her son Joel is a CHCA Junior. Natalie and Jason regularly attend College Hill Presbyterian Church, where she has served as a Deacon, Women’s Retreat Leader, Congregational Nominating Committee Member, Adult Sunday School Leader, and Youth Ministry Small Group Leader.
Natalie received her BA from Ohio State University in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication. She is a teacher and facilitator of Equipping Ministries International Interpersonal Skills Training in Listening, Speaking the Truth in Love, and Renewing the Mind. She recently did interpersonal skills training via Zoom for YWAM (Youth With a Mission) based in New Zealand, Switzerland, Brazil, and Mexico, and held in person training at YWAM University of the Nations in Kona, Hawaii.
Natalie has had extensive involvement at CHCA. Previously, she served as PTF President, PTF Spiritual Life Leader, Upper School Prayer Leader, homeroom parent, school volunteer, After Prom committee member, and Celebration committee member. She is currently a Trilogy Women’s Bible Study Small Group Leader, Upper School Prayer Team member, PTF Bash Coordinator, MSL Campus front desk volunteer, CHCA Cooking Connection facilitator; and a One Heart One Mind small group member.
Natalie brings to the Board leadership and organizational skills. These strengths along with her strong interpersonal communication skills and long tenure of volunteering at CHCA, will be very beneficial in serving on the Board.
Gary Price
Gary and his wife, Lesley, have two CHCA gratuates: Jonathan ’12 and Hannah ’17; and one child, Caleb, currently in CHCA Grade 8. They regularly attend Rivers Crossing Church where Gary has been involved in the Children’s Ministry, Grades 3-6. He also served for ten years as a JH Outback Cincinnati Leadership Volunteer, and in fall 2022, he was a MASH volunteer at Crossroads Man Camp.
Gary received his MBA from Washington University and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Finance & Marketing. He is a Managing Director at FEG Investment Advisors and oversees a team of advisors. Gary co-founded their asset management and private capital solutions and served on their five-member leadership team from 2005-2017. In 2017, FEG converted to an employee-owned firm, and he has served on the FEG ESOP Board of Directors since 2018.
Gary has been a parent in the CHCA community since 2000. He volunteered in youth sports coaching all three of his children, and served on the CHCA Board from 2003-2009. While on the Board, Gary led a search process to secure a new retirement provider, and he continues to serve on the 403b Retirement Plan Committee.
Gary will bring to the Board strong leadership, financial acumen, strategy, and discernment. These skills, along with being a long-term committed advocate for the CHCA community and former Board member, will be very beneficial in serving on the Board for a second time.
