National Junior Honor Society

Grade levels: 8
Purpose: Provide a forum for students to develop and exercise leadership skills and stimulate a heart of service and character growth. 
Months: School Year
Practice Day(s) / Time of the Week: Society meets at least bi-weekly during lunch or activity bell. Smaller groups and committees often meet before, during, or after school hours.
Practice Location: Founders Campus Classroom
Competition/Performance Schedule: n/a
Cost: Annual Dues are $20 cash
Anticipated # of Students: 30-50
Expected Parent Involvement: Help with items for fundraisers; provide snacks; drive to off campus volunteer events; can volunteer alongside their child at events.

How Do You Register: NJHS is by invitation only; students must have and maintain a 3.7 or higher GPA and show leadership, character, service, and scholarship. Students complete an activities page and write an essay about their interest in NJHS. A faculty council reviews each student’s entire application and determines if they meet membership criteria.
Register by: Invitations are usually extended at the beginning of 4th quarter 7th grade for the following year.
