Marcus Robert Daley, Class of 2022 Valedictorian

Marcus joined CHCA as a freshman and states that being a part of this community, and the privilege of a CHCA education, have been his greatest blessings. A National AP Scholar with Distinction, he completed 11 AP courses and 12 AP exams, and received 7 awards for academic excellence over his  4 years. He is a member of both the National Honor Society and JNCL Latin Honor Society. Marcus earned the Ohio State Seal of Biliteracy in Latin.

Outside the classroom, Marcus is passionate about service, receiving the President’s Volunteer Service Award all 4 years and accumulating over 400 hours during his CHCA time. He loved working as an SOS leader for Mountain TOP, Eagles Tutoring, and Symmes Volleyball and served as an SOS Board Member both junior and senior years. Marcus is most proud of the independent math tutoring business he began after his sophomore year. He worked with 25 individual clients and loved every second of teaching mathematics ranging from Pre-Algebra to Calculus I. Marcus cherishes his time as a Peer Advisor, a Student Ambassador, golfer and member of the Academic Team. He had amazing times with the CHCA Theater Department as a member of Off the Cuff, director in The One Act, and playing the role of a southern sugar-daddy, Abner Dillon, pursuing his unrequited love interest in 42nd Street. Marcus was named the Rotary Club Student of the Month and is honored in being nominated and selected for the Neyer Foundation Christian Leadership Award.

Ava attended CHCA for 10 years and is very grateful for the spiritual, academic, and social preparation this community provided. She is the Service Leader for National Honor Society and is involved in SOS as both leader and founder of the Pathways group, co-leader/co-founder of Letters of Gratitude, and serves as a tutor for Eagles Tutoring. Ava volunteers in children’s ministry with her church and with the Cincinnati Tennis Foundation, serving with wheelchair tennis events and children’s clinics. She played four years of high school tennis, one year of varsity track and field, and enjoys intramural pickleball. Ava participated as an elected member of Student Government each of her CHCA years.

Outside of school, Ava  played piano for 10 years and has participated in various music competitions.  In her free time, she  enjoys running, baking, ping pong (2-year reigning Schwan family champ), watching medical dramas, game nights, and hanging out with family and friends.
