Upper 7-8 Information

Annette Eberhardt

We could really use help in the Grades 5-8 art room this week and next for the upcoming ArtBeat Event.  Matting and labeling artwork and other miscellaneous jobs--no experience necessary!  Last half hour of the school day would be ideal.  Contact Mrs. Eberhardt if you are able to help.

Jackie Cebulskie

Your contribution will be applied toward activity rentals, decorations, food, entertainment, and prizes. It’s up to parents to make it happen!   Thanks in advance for your generosity and quick response! Please click the UltraCamp link to help.

Would you consider donating any gift cards or sporting tickets or making a themed gift basket with a group of other moms? ( local colleges, sports teams, beauty items, "off to college"). Any donation is appreciated and can be dropped off at the high school front desk.

Understanding Grade 9-12 Service Hour Requirements: Service Immersions

Inclusive to the 120 hours of community service required for graduation, students are to complete two service immersion experiences, one of which must be a CHCA Upper School 9-12 Service Immersion. Service immersions are extended service-learning experiences in marginalized communities, and are most often associated with trips. On a service immersion, students not only participate in daily volunteer work, but they also participate in intentional living and learning experiences which build community, promote social justice, and spiritual growth. Students are to complete one service immersion project by the end of their sophomore year and a second by the end of the first semester of their senior year. Non-CHCA service immersions must be pre-approved by the Outreach/SOS office. We offer several experiences that are no cost.  Students who attend CHCA for their senior year only are not required to complete a service immersion. Students who attend for 2 ½ years or more are required to complete 2 service immersions. More information about community service requirements can be found here.
