Karen Hordinski What type of volunteer work counts for service hours? At CHCA, your service hours counted for graduation are those hours you spend doing unpaid work for a non-profit/NGO. This is beyond the service that we hope you naturally do for your family. Service/volunteer work is to be completed through a non-profit agency or to a person in the community who would be considered marginalized (i.e. homeless, low-income, handicapped, elderly, etc.). Examples of non-profits include churches, most schools, social services such as soup kitchens, nursing homes, humanitarian aid organizations, and more.
