The annual Elementary Learning Fair, a celebration of thinking, questioning, and creativity, is coming soon.  Students are encouraged to research and then create a project based on their interests. Poisonous snakes, Lego castles, the structure of atoms, rock collections, insects, outer space, and bubble gum are some of the intriguing subjects you may learn about in our Lower Elementary gym on Thursday, 01/31/19 from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Also join us on Friday, 02/01/19 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Please join us to LEARN!

Do you know families who are considering a school for their young children? Please share our upcoming PK-Kindergarten Prospective Parent Coffee with them so they can discover how CHCA’s Early Learning programming prepares our youngest students intellectually, socially, and spiritually for the next step in their learning journey. Children’s author Artie Knapp will be visiting CHCA on Tuesday, 01/15/19. Mr. Knapp is the author of over 40 published children's literature works that includes books, videos, stories and poems. His children’s stories have been published in numerous course books by HarperCollins, Orient BlackSwan, Oxford University Press, Pearson Education, and The Chart Institute in Japan, among others. While visiting with CHCA students, Mr. Knapp will be discussing his latest children’s book Little Otter Learns to Swim. Personalized copies of the book will be made available during his visit.

Mr. Knapp is a member of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and graduated from Ohio University. He lives in Cincinnati, with his wife and daughter Alanna, who attends CHCA.

EBL Music Aide Grades KPrep-3:
Part-time aide to assist in the grades KPrep-3 music room, equivalent of five hours per week.  Generally flexible hours will be agreed upon with music teacher.  However, during busy periods while preparing for programs and other events, hours may be less flexible.  Ideal candidate should have strong communication, organization and computer skills; knowledgeable on both Macs and PCs; and be creative.   Duties include working with spreadsheets, organizing t-shirt and ticket orders, communications with parents and volunteers, and assisting with costuming ideas, etc.  To apply, click on this link

Linda Watson ▪ Executive Assistant to the Head of School

CHCA is partnering with Back2Back Ministries in joining a mission to become a trauma-informed community.  Our faculty and staff are participating in an in-service day work session with Back2Back in February,  and we are inviting our parent community to learn more and get informed as well. We will be hosting a presentation just for parents in the Lindner Theater on Wednesday, 02/20/19, from 7:00-9:00 p.m.  We hope you will be able to attend.
