If students need to be dropped off at 7:55 a.m., there will be designated study rooms available. All students need to be picked up each day at 12:15. No ASR these days.

In case of a weather closing on exam days, Wednesday, 12/19/18 will be used as a make-up day. 

Are you feeling tired? The next Leaning Eagle Mini-Cup Coffee Bar will be Wednesday, 11/14/18 before school, lunch and during SDL.  Serving MSL Leaning Eagle Coffee Drinks, hot chocolate, lemonade and fresh baked goods.  Items range from $1-3 per item.

NJHS is collecting donations 12/03-07 targeting 9-18 year olds.  Please send in NEW items.  Some ideas include:  Sports equipment, board games, perfume sets, jewelry, purses, DVD's, watches, clothing, etc.  Cash donations also accepted.  

The annual CHCA Geography Bee for Grades 4-8 will be held on Tuesday, 11/27 at 3:30 in the 7-8 Innovation Space at Founders’ Campus. Students have signed up at school for the Bee and all spots are currently filled. However, students may get on the wait list by contacting Mrs. Null. An email with important information will be going out this week to participants and wait list students. Please direct any questions to Mrs. Null.

Come to the Grade 8 Jingle Bell Dance, Saturday, 12/08/18.  Dinner served at 6:30 p.m.; Dance from 7:00-10:00 p.m.  Tickets will be sold 11/27-30 at school for $25.

Please join the US 7-12 Counselors on Wednesday, 11/14/18, 6:00 – 7:15 p.m. for a Parent Roundtable Discussion about stress, anxiety, and coping strategies for assisting your teen. 2019 YEARBOOK SALE ONLINE

Order the 2019 Upper School 7th and 8th grade yearbook ONLINE now. The cost is $20, plus any add-ons you choose to order from the website. Please order here. Once on the Josten’s home screen, click on the “SHOP YEARBOOKS” button in the lower middle of the page. A search box will pop up, and here you will enter CHCA 7th and 8th Grade. Once you select our school, you will follow the prompts to order. You may order the 2019 yearbook for your son or daughter now through the end of first semester (Dec. 18).    Please contact Mimi Ehlen if you have any questions. 

2019 YEARBOOK SPORTS PHOTOS NEEDED
If any 7th and 8th grade parent or sports fan has candid (action) photos from any sporting event during the year—fall, winter, spring—please consider sharing some of them with the yearbook staff. Students In Grades 7-12, Do You Qualify For The President’s Volunteer Service Award?

Take a look at the chart below to see if you qualify. Hours that qualify are those earned between 04/01/18 – 03/31/19. High school students, make sure your hours are up to date in the Guidance Office so that we can verify them and then email Barb.Holthaus@chca-oh.org to let her know you qualify. Students in Gr 7-8 keep a record of service and have Mrs. Metzger sign. See details here. Deadline is April 1st.

Following are the plans in place specifically for Upper School Grades 9-12:

Communication of a delay, closing, or an unplanned early release due to weather:  If school is officially delayed or closed or students will be released early for weather, the school messaging system will be used to contact families using the phone number(s) you provided when opting into the system. Local news and radio stations will also be notified and communicating that information for Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy.

• Notifications of Change to Contact Information:  Email Registrar@chca-oh.org to update contact phone numbers used by our school messaging system.
• For a delay:  Students will attend all classes with shortened bells starting at 10:00 a.m. Students may not arrive prior to 9:30 a.m.
• For an unplanned early release due to weather:  In the event of an early release, afternoon bus service will likely not be available, and parents relying on bus transportation would need to contact their district’s school transportation department for confirmation.

Did you know that Sydney Sauder (Class of 2019) is the student representative to the Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waster District Board? She sits on the Board of Directors representing all of the schools in Hamilton County!

She is also the Leader of the Sustainability Squad--our new Environmental Club which replaces the SOS Recycle Team.   

SOS leaders, Chase Adams and Jack Sonne, will be kicking off a Kona Ice fundraiser for Stewart Carnival on Friday, 11/09/18.  The fundraiser will take place outside miracle commons during the lunch bells (weather permitting).
