Karen Hordinski SOS Shantytown Was a Big Success: Seventeen students and faculty participated in our annual event to learn about homelessness in our city. This year's Shantytown combined with SOS team H20 for Life. Students heard from Dr. Savage about global and local water issues, took a water walk in Sharon Woods, and heard from a person who was formerly homeless from the Greater Cincinnati Coalition for the Homeless. The group built shanties and slept outside to deepen their empathy and understanding. Special thanks to Dr. Savage for speaking, and to Mr. Salkil, and Mr. Turvey who spent the night with us! Armleder Lacrosse: SOS is excited to announce that one of our leaders, Rhian Solomon, is beginning a lacrosse clinic for girls at Armleder on 10/30/18. High school volunteers will travel down to Armleder weekly after school on Tuesdays to build growth, teamwork, and spirituality among the girls participating. For more information on getting involved, stop by the SOS room.
