School pictures were sent home with your student last week. Retakes will be tomorrow, Friday, 09/07/18 first thing in the morning. Please be sure to return the photo package you do not want to keep. It is a non-uniform day for students having retakes. If your student has not had their picture taken, send this form with payment
Kathie Baxter, school counselor for Gr 4 – 8, provides support for students’ social and emotional needs. She serves students, staff members, and parents, is at school Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and can be reached by phone (Ext. 219) or email. Her office is located near the nurse’s clinic on the second floor.
The Eagle Clothing Swap has been updated with a new shelving unit for size 14 and larger. Check out the new unit in EBL, directly under the staircase that leads up to the Scrip Shop. There is also a new adult size Spirit Wear tub located on top of the original shelving. Remember, we carry all size clothing. Take what you need, donate when you are able. The swap is open anytime the building is open, but be sure to enter through the front doors and sign in first.

SchoolMessenger is the system CHCA uses to notify parents of all-school emergency broadcasts (i.e. snow days) and other relevant communication. Don’t miss important school information via text. Simply make sure your cell phone number is on file. Access SchoolMessenger to set up your preferences. Once your number is on file, opt in to receive text message notifications by texting Y to 67587.

We celebrate "Beacon of the Week" as a weekly mention in Campus Connection, highlighting students, faculty, alumni, and those within our community who display the mission and values of CHCA through a unique talent, service, or other activity. A secure Parent Portal on CHCA's website will now house CHCA's PTF Family Directory for this school year. This will replace the printed version, and will be more cost-effective, more secure, and current with real-time information. Details regarding access to the portal and the directory itself will be provided to current families, faculty, and staff within the next couple of weeks. CHCA's SmugMug site is already filling up with photos from the new school year! Check out the latest photos and download them for free by clicking on the download button. If you have photos throughout the year of happenings around all campuses, please email Tammy.Rosenfeldt@chca-oh.org for a link to upload to the site.
SchoolMessenger is the system used to notify you of school delays and closings as well as periodic information and updates. One of the benefits of SchoolMessenger is that we can broadcast messages to multiple phone numbers and email addresses and also via text message*. To customize your notification preferences, you can use the SchoolMessenger app or portal. Also, if during the school year, you have any changes to your contact numbers or addresses, please email the school at Registrar@chca-oh.org.
The Head of School's Office is looking for a parent or two who may be interested in a paid position as a lunchtime Substitute Receptionist in the CHCA Welcome Center. The commitment is once or twice a week, for about an hour a day. The job is simply to answer the phone and greet visitors to CHCA, and training will be provided. If you are interested or have any questions, feel free to stop by the Welcome Center or call Judi Davis at 247-0900.
