Families of rising 8th graders - if your rising 8th grader is interested in participating in the Back2Back service trip during Change Our World week, please apply for a passport over the summer. Back to Back and the airline company will require current passport information at time of registration (approx. Upper School 9-12 Front Office

All grades 9-12 students who plan to drive to school need to register their car for a parking pass for the 2018-2019 school year.  Parent signature and all vehicle information, along with payment for the parking pass, are due before the first day of school for currently licensed drivers.  Parents should go to UltraCamp to submit parking pass application and payment.  Please note that seniors wanting to park at the high school lot should submit their form no later than August 12; spots in the HS lot will be assigned by random drawing after that date.

A secure Parent Portal on the CHCA website will house an online Family Directory for the upcoming school year! This will replace the printed version, and will be more cost-effective, more secure, and current with real-time information. Details will be forthcoming in August concerning access to the portal and directory. Many thanks to the PTF for their time and thought in the design of this new secure resource. For questions or ideas, contact webmaster@chca-oh.org

Sharon Frankart, Summer Programs Coordinator

Most registrations remain open until the first day of the camp; see chca-oh.org/summer for details!  As your summer plans are finalized, we hope you include some of our academic, fine arts, and athletic options.  Invite friends to join your students; non-CHCA students are welcomed! Please email the camp leaders or CHCA’s Summer Programs Coordinator, Sharon Frankart, with any questions, or call 513-247-9944 ext. 363.

When CHCA hosts SpringHill Camp, we provide host homes for their counselors for the week. If you and your family would be willing to consider hosting college counselors during the week of 07/09/18, please contact Sharon Frankart at Sharon.Frankart@chca-oh.org. Details: They arrive on Sunday evening, 07/08/18 and stay through Sunday morning, 07/15/18. If you are interested but not available for the last weekend, that can be accommodated. They rise early to get to camp by 7:30 a.m. and finish camp around 6:00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday evenings, they have staff meetings that include dinner and will return to their host homes later those evenings. When they are at a home, they are fairly independent. You can include them in meals and activities, but do not need to adjust your family plans. SpringHill normally organizes activities such as Kings Island or the Zoo for the counselors on the weekend following camp. They also provide air mattresses if helpful. Thank you for considering sharing your gift of hospitality!

Parents must pick up any medications their child has in the Health Office by the last day of school, Friday, 6/1/2018, 11:30 a.m.  Students in grades PK to 8 are not allowed to transport  medication home.  Students in grades 9-12 may transport over the counter medications home however, parents must sign out prescription medication. Any medications left after that time will be disposed of.  As a reminder, all medication permission forms automatically expire at the end of the school year so please have your child’s doctor sign a new form this summer.

Anne Venters

A quote from a Lower E student as shared by a mom reflecting on the school year.  This student has already accomplished more with this statement than most in the world.  Thank you teachers, students and parents for the opportunity to engage with each other, bring out the best in one another and be the face of Christ for one another.  We share a unique community preparing students to find success in this world and with their gifts, advance the Kingdom.  Please join me in celebrating this mission with a gift to the CHCA Annual Fund.  We need $90,000 to reach this year's goal of $550,000!  Blessings for a safe and joy-filled summer, Anne Venters.
