We know this is a significant investment, so we actively partner with families who demonstrate a financial need.
Determination of need is assessed by an outside firm, Independent School Management’s Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST). Visit FAST to apply for tuition assistance and complete the FAST online application. FAST determines what, if any, student need exists and returns a confidential report to CHCA. Our Tuition Assistance Committee uses the report to guide them in offering tuition assistance. Once an award is made, families can typically count on a similar award in future years, provided there is no change in financial circumstances.

Tuition assistance funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Because the FAST application requires your most recent tax return, your FAST application should be submitted as soon as your prior year tax returns are complete, but no later than April 1 of the upcoming school year. FAST applications (for new or returning families) after that date will be considered as long as funds are available. Please contact Admissions@chca-oh.org for more information.
Families are notified of their tuition assistance award decision within two weeks of a complete FAST application (including tax return).
Tuition assistance awards are granted to returning or newly accepted students who demonstrate a financial need based upon their FAST application. The dollar value of an award varies based upon a family’s ability to contribute to tuition (as determined by FAST) and the campus in which the student is enrolled.
At our Edyth B. Lindner, Founders’, and Martha S. Lindner campus locations, award amounts range from $1,000 to a maximum award of approximately one-half of tuition.
Thanks to the generous endowment which funds our Armleder campus, award amounts range from $1,000 to the maximum award of nearly full tuition. Those receiving the maximum awards are required to pay the minimum tuition, $1,400/student for the 2022-2023 school year.
New or returning students in grades K-12 who show a demonstrated financial need as determined by FAST are eligible to receive a tuition assistance award. Tuition assistance is not currently available for our Early Learning students.
Yes, although the family must apply each year to receive a continuing award. Assuming no significant changes in financial circumstances, a family can expect that the amount of tuition assistance will remain consistent for the time the student is enrolled at CHCA.
Because the FAST calculation of a family’s financial need is a very individualized assessment based on a variety of factors (income, number of children applying to CHCA, assets, business gains/losses, etc.), we encourage all families for whom affordability is a concern to complete the FAST application. This is really the only reliable way to determine financial need.
The confidentiality of your financial information is maintained at all times, and only select Administrative Office staff members responsible for tuition assistance awards have access to the FAST reports.
