International Student Program (ISP) FAQs

No. Students must be proficient in English (TOEFL, TOEFL Jr. or IELTS score required) to be considered for admission. Academic support is available as necessary to ensure the success of our second language learners, but we do not offer an ESL program.

No. Students may not obtain their driver’s license or operate a motor vehicle while enrolled at CHCA in the International Student Program.

Dates are typically established for the upcoming school year in spring.                                                                

• New international students: Arrive first week of August to attend ISP orientation

• Returning international students: Arrive Mid-Aug (dates vary each year)

• School starts: Mid-August (dates vary each year)

• Christmas Break: All international students are required to return home for Christmas Break. The International Student Director must approve each student's travel itinerary.

The International Student Director must confirm all travel plans and arrival/departure dates prior to booking flights and once plans are confirmed, a copy of the travel itinerary must be provided to the school.  

Our international students live in a homestay model with carefully selected host families. We find that living with host families provides a greater opportunity for students to fully experience life in the U.S. and all that CHCA has to offer. This model provides care and comfort that helps students succeed academically in our rigorous college-prep curriculum and share experiences necessary to become a successful, high quality student at the university level and beyond.
