MATHCOUNTS

Grade levels:	7-8
Purpose:	MATHCOUNTS is a national program that aims to inspire excellence, confidence and curiosity in students through fun and challenging math activities. Any student who loves math, regardless of math level, is invited to participate.
Months:	September - May
Practice Day(s) / Time of the Week:	Interested students will have opportunities to participate during the school day Practices for students participating in competition are held after school prior to competition.
Practice Location:	Mrs. Bollman's Classroom W229
Competition/Performance Schedule:	Club members may be invited to participate in math competitions including the AMC8, Math League, Rocket City Math League, UC Math Bowl, and local and regional MATHCOUNTS competitions.
Cost:	There is no cost to participate in club activities. Some competitions require minimal registration and competition tshirt costs.
Anticipated # of Students:	12-20
Expected Parent Involvement:	Transportation to some math competitions.
