Armleder Eyewitness News
Grade Levels:
K-6
Purpose:
The student-directed and -led news program airs daily at 7:50 a.m. throughout all Armleder classrooms via YouTube. Students complete an application, interview, and audition for broadcasting and leadership spots like:
- Anchor kicks off the announcements with opening and closing of the news (well-versed readers)
- Spotlight Segment Reporter (different daily features)
- Segment Reporter (weather, menu, birthday, bible verse, etc.)
Behind the Scenes:
- Producer oversees the organization and details of the daily news
- Tech Support ensures the systems used for the news are ready (software, laptops, iPads, for sound, slides, scrollers, props, etc.)
- Writer creates the segments that are reported
Typical segments include: “Did You Know”; National Day; Birthday, Lunch, and Weather Reporters; Memory Verse; and Pledges

September - May
Meeting Schedule:
Monday - Friday from 7:35 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
Members who are repeatedly late or absent may be reassigned or relieved of responsibility.

Expected Parent Involvement:
Have students at school by 7:35 a.m. (Yes, we know it's early!)
Notes:
- Jobs are assigned daily
- Leadership responsibilities rotate daily based on attendance, ability and reliability
- Students late will be unable to participate in the news that day and will be asked to go to their classroom
- Continued involvement is dependent on consistent attendance
