Winter Term 2010: Student reflections
Helping out on the Appalachia trip
As happens each year, Winter Term experiences scattered CHCA’s high school students across the city, the nation, and the globe. Some paddled kayaks in the Caribbean, camping on beaches and learning about the local ecosystem; some traveled to South Africa to learn about the culture, go on safari, and help out at Bophelong School and an AIDS hospice; many others stayed in Greater Cincinnati to serve at schools, nursing homes, and hospitals. (View a full list of the Winter Term experiences here.)
Whether they served, learned, cooked, worked with concrete, walked Istanbul, tracked wildlife, or interned – each student has a story to tell about their Winter Term. Below are a few who shared their experiences on the web.
