This week, CHCA seniors Madelynn Glenn, Emmett Looman, and Olivia Noh were named Finalists in the 2024 National Merit® Scholarship Program.
“I’m thrilled to share that these students have advanced toward the next step in the National Merit Scholarship Program,” Dr. Nicholas says. “Their achievements demonstrate a dedication to academic excellence through and through. We are proud to have them as part of our community.”
The 2024 program saw more than 1.3 million applicants from 21,000 high schools. Finalists were selected from a pool of 16,000 students who advanced to the Semifinalist stage late last year. Glenn, Looman, and Noh—along with over 15,000 other Finalists—were selected based on meeting academic and other requirements. To be chosen as Merit Scholar® awardees, Finalists will be evaluated on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments.
Beginning in March 2024, National Merit Scholarship Program will notify 7,140 Finalists that they have been named Merit Scholars in one of three categories: National Merit $2,500 scholarships, corporate-sponsored scholarships, and college-sponsored scholarships.
