Ever seen the smile on a child’s face when he shows you his latest drawing? The look of accomplishment when she finally gets the hang of playing “Big Rock Candy Mountain” on the clarinet? Or the grin of satisfaction when he takes his final bow at the end of the school play? The arts are so inspiring to young minds, and that’s why fostering creative expression is an intentional pursuit at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. From preschool to graduation, children are encouraged to sing, play, act, dance, paint and sculpt to their heart’s content.
With CHCA’s outstanding faculty standing by to help them discover their inner artist, plus a variety of curricular and extracurricular options to choose from, students have the tools and guidance to develop their gifts in the visual and performing arts. Amazing facilities complement the programs – from band rooms equipped with state-of-the-art sound attenuation to a high school art room that would make Michelangelo jealous, our students and faculty have the best spaces possible to get the most out of their fine arts education. Plus, opportunities to exhibit what they’ve learned in the classroom at concerts, recitals, festivals, plays, musicals and regional competitions allow students to reach higher and excel.
Our students also have the support of the Friends of Fine Arts (FOFA), a devoted booster group whose goal is to increase and improve opportunities in the fine arts for the benefit of CHCA students and their families.
At CHCA, it’s not about teaching kids to color inside the lines, it’s about helping children with a wide variety of gifts learn and experiment with the techniques that will enable them to express themselves. So whether children want to try the French horn, learn to tap dance or paint a garden scene to rival Monet, there’s a place for them here.
