xCurtains Up Afterschool Acting (Gr 4-6)

Grade levels: 4-6
Purpose:

Provide a fun, supportive environment where each student can sharpen the talent necessary for artistic excellence and develop communication skills that will serve them through every facet of life.

Students learn the fundamentals of acting and knowledge of the stage through theatre games and ensemble exercises aimed at sharpening basic skills--concentration, movement, voice, characterization, and improvisation -- as well as practical help with auditions and scripts. Students present a short performance at the end of the session.
Months: 01/29/20 - 03/11/20 -- 7 class sessions
Meeting Schedule: Wednesdays, 3:15 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.

Jocelyn has performed, directed, and taught professionally for over 30 years. She is a member of AFTRA/SAG and appears in national and regional commercials, films, and voiceovers, as well as performing with Improv Cincinnati. She is also Managing Director and performer for Friends of the Groom Theater Company.
