Premier Pops

Grade levels: 6-8 grade musicians (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, percussion)
Purpose: Offer a challenging and rewarding musical experience for students on all band instruments, an outlet for performing and sharing musical gifts, and an opportunity to learn and enjoy playing jazz, pop, sacred, and contemporary music ... Broadway, Hollywood, beyond!
Months: September-May
Practice Schedule: Thursdays, 3:20-4:30 p.m. (plus additional performances)
Practice Location: Founders' Campus band facilities
Performance Schedule: December – Founders' Campus Gr 5-8 Christmas Concert – Weekday evening
April – ArtBeat – Saturday
May – Founders' Campus Gr 5-8 Band Concert – Weekday evening
Additional performances in the Cincinnati area are possible throughout the year.
Cost: $150 annual fee; $25 late registration fee starts 09/01/23

Although musicians in Premier Pops and Genesis Jazz must register online for both ensembles, they only pay $150 total. A discount will be automatically applied at registration.
Anticipated # of Students: 30
Expected Parent Involvement:
  • Coordinate volunteer efforts (e.g. arrange transportation for special rehearsals at the MSL campus)
  • Transportation to some off-site performances/rehearsals
  • Set-up/strike performance areas
  • Assist with performance management
  • Provide snacks for rehearsals
