Service Immersion Trips

Over 300 students participate each year in over 15 service immersion trip offerings, traveling near and far to reach out to others. Trips are led by faculty, staff and parents, and opportunities may cost as little as $20 (some are even free). CHCA students have built strong relationships with the communities they have served in Cincinnati, Detroit, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. Whether you want to make an impact locally or globally, there is a service trip out there for you.

Service immersion trips are available for Upper School Grade 8-12 students.

Service may include volunteering at the emergency shelter, food pantry, and social enterprises such as Tiny Houses and Green industries.

Our Goals are to work hard, learn about urban poverty and homelessness, build new friendships in our group, try things that might be new to us, grow in our faith, and have fun!

Possible service work for our group includes:  interacting with adults with disabilities, yard work, light maintenance, working in a soup kitchen, recycling tires into new products, etc.

Big Creek Mission (Bear Branch, KY) is just a few miles away from many lives lost and hundreds of homes destroyed from earlier flooding. The area is in dire need of assistance and this non-profit is commited to supplying skilled work teams. “Our commitment to this community is indefinite - and our response will be steady and sustained.”

CHCA may help distribute or organize supplies, clean affected homes, or do home repair. We will stay in a Big Creek dorm. Our goals are to work hard, learn about rural poverty & disaster relief, build new friendships within our group, gain confidence, develop new skills, grow in our faith, and have fun.
