Cum Laude Scholarships
Celebrating academic achievement
CHCA is proud to award The Cum Laude Scholarships to academically gifted students with proven achievement. Awards recognize elite students scoring exceptionally high among peers enrolled at or pursuing selective admission at independent schools.
Award criteria
To be considered for this award, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be entering grades 7-9 (if currently enrolled as a CHCA student) or grades 7-12 (if a prospective student pursuing CHCA admission). New students complete the admission and scholarship application processes concurrently. All scholarship application materials must be submitted by the applicant’s family interview date.
- Students must take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) and submit their score report to CHCA (school code 365953) for scholarship consideration.
- Applicants for grades 7-12 who wish to compete for The Cum Laude Scholarship should notify their Admission Counselor to schedule the ISEE for scholarship consideration.
- Currently enrolled CHCA students must take the ISEE on one of the published group testing dates.
- Must demonstrate strong academic performance in the classroom.
- Be current on their tuition account (enrolled students only).
- Be willing to commit as an Early Decision enrollee. Early Decision enrollment means the family is committed to the student’s enrollment at CHCA for the upcoming year, and upon acceptance of the scholarship and submission of an enrollment contract, the terms of the enrollment contract become binding. Exceptions will be considered for out of town relocations only.
The Cum Laude Scholarship Committee, comprised of at least five school officials, will select the merit scholarship recipients based upon the eligibility and award criteria outlined above. Awards will be made as qualifying scores are received, pending availability of scholarship funds.
