Grade Levels:9-12 for High School Dance Team
New in 2013-2014!  Youth (4-5) and Junior High (6-8) Teams
See also Tiny (K-1) and Mini (2-3) Teams
Purpose:Dance instruction, performance, and competition.  Teams will be trained and perform pom, lyrical, and/or jazz routines and will take two routines to competitions.
Current Registrations:2013-2014 Dance Season Auditions  
Submit audition registration by April 26; No one may audition who has not pre-registered online by the deadline

After a successful audition, all members must:
♦  Register and schedule fee payment with our online registration system by May 1
♦  Submit medical info with either an OSHAA Physical form or a Gr 6-12 STU Health Form for ExtraCurricular to the Fine Arts Office by your first practice or August 1, whichever comes first
Auditions:April 30, 2013 - 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  MSL Gym
Practice Commitment:August - February
Required camp the weekend before school starts
Practices start first week of school
      Tuesday and Friday 3:30 - 4:45 p.m.
      Sunday 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.

February - End of School
      Tuesday 3:30 - 4:45 p.m.

Summer - TBA Optional practices

Practice Location:MSL HS dance room or gym
Other Time Commitments:6-8 basketball games, Friends and Family Night, and ArtBeat
October-January:  1-2 Regional competitions
February:  National Dance Team Competition in Orlando, Florida
Cost:$2,500 annually includes all seasonal expenses (competition entries; travel expenses for Nationals; costumes you keep; and use of props, poms, pom uniforms and warm ups you return)
♦ $500 non-refundable deposit due May 1, 2013
♦ $333.34  due the 1st of each month (July - December)
♦ Registrations are non-refundable after August 1, 2013. If you withdraw from the program (even due to injury), you are still responsible for all outstanding fees
♦ Does not include personal items and travel expenses to regional competitions
Anticipated # of Students: 10
Expected Parent Involvement: Parent involvement is necessary.  Each parent must volunteer in some capacity.  See handbook for details.
Notes:♦ All content in the CHCA Dance Team Handbook (Jr High and High School) and Fine Arts Handbook applies to this activity
♦ We have an outreach ministry called "Princess Packs"
♦ Communication is primarily done via the free CHCA Dance Team app available via iTunes or Google play
♦ .25 PE requirement may be met through participation in a season of Dance Team.  Contact Guidance for details.
