July 20 • Cap & Gown Order Due
Contact Jostens rep Jeff Tanner (513-561-3225) with student's height and weight to order required gown package delivered first week of school. $40 payment payable via credit card over phone or via check (mail to Jostens c/o Jeff Tanner; PO Box 43223; Cincinnati 45243). Information to follow regarding other Jostens graduation products and order dates.

Formal Senior Pictures • 10 minute appointment between 10:00 am – 4:00 pm • Showbiz Dance Academy at Landen Square Shopping Center (map)
Dan Ledbetter Studios will take all senior pictures for the yearbook and composite. Additional portraits may be taken at another time or with other photographers. $25 sitting fee for 4-5 poses payable in cash, check or credit card; photos available for purchase. Email dledhead@fuse.net or call (513) 314-9307 to schedule appointment. Email questions to the High School office.
Yearbook pictures: Dress for girls – Photographer will supply formal black draping and optional pearl necklace; wear an off-the-shoulder shirt and please limit jewelry to small earrings and pearl necklace. Dress for boys – dark suit jacket, white dress shirt, dark tie.

MSL HS Convocation
This service celebrates the beginning of our school year and all seniors are required to attend. Seniors wear gowns but no caps, gowns will be handed out to students the first week of school.

The Senior essay & résumé assignment is due today. You must submit a copy to your English teacher and the Guidance Office. You also must schedule a 10-15 minute meeting with your college counselor to review your essay, resume, and current college list. (This step must be completed by this date for you to receive the 20 point quiz grade.)

“Everything You Need to Know About Applying to College”
The college counselors will talk to the seniors and their parents about the process required for submitting college applications.

College Application Marathon
A college counselor will be available to help seniors as they work on their college applications. Bring your essay & résumé for helpful feedback from the counselor.

Please be certain to submit all application paperwork to your college counselor at least two weeks before a stated college application deadline! Include your Application Checklist available from the FORMS and TOPICS page.

A Jostens representative will be at school to inform senior students about ordering graduation announcements, etc. Parents are welcome to attend this meeting time during the Modified Block schedule. More information to follow.

Cincinnati Suburban College Fair
Attendance is highly encouraged for all students. See the growing list of colleges attending and get directions here. Seniors - this is a great opportunity to meet college representatives from schools you are interested in as talking to the representative indicates your interest and makes a strong impression. You could also gain additional information about other college options. Bring this list of questions so you can learn a lot!

Seniors do not have to report to school at all today. Plan a road trip and visit some colleges.

We ask your child to pause and compose thank-you notes to the teachers who have written letters of recommendation on their behalf. Our faculty goes “above and beyond” when it comes to recommendation letters and they need to know how much the students appreciate them!

Final Exams
♦ January 1
If you plan to apply for need-based financial assistance, you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form. You cannot submit this form electronically before January 1, but we encourage you to prepare the form over the holidays and submit it as soon after January 1 as possible.
♦ January 17
If your student has submitted 7th semester grade requests, those transcripts will go out after January 17. Colleges do monitor 7th & 8th semester grades and they reserve the right to rescind admission and scholarship offers if a student shows a marked decline in performance.
♦ January - April
Be aware of guidelines and deadlines for submitting enrollment/housing deposits to your selected college. Many colleges assign housing preferences based on date of deposit. Submitting a housing deposit is not the same as confirming your enrollment.
♦ January - May
Be aware of “senioritis” and stay focused on achieving a strong finish to your CHCA career!
♦ March 1
All service hours required for graduation must be completed and turned in.

This ceremony honors seniors graduating with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above.

Final college decisions must be made and deposits sent to the college. Notify the other colleges you applied to that you will not be attending.

AP Testing
Please do not plan vacations or medical appointments for a student who is scheduled to take an AP test. The exams cannot be rescheduled.

Diaspeiro Service
This service is similar to a baccalaureate service and all graduates are required to attend. Graduates wear robes but no caps. Robes will be handed out to students earlier in the week. Participation is mandatory. The service is videotaped, and the tapes are available for sale. Price TBD. Order forms will be distributed in May.

Graduation
Students must be at school early to dress, pose for class picture, and lineup. We will not know the number of tickets that will be allotted to each family until closer to Graduation. Participation is mandatory. Girls will be expected to wear a white or cream colored dress under their white robes. Please be careful with choice of shoes as they must walk up and down stairs. Boys will be expected to wear a dress shirt, tie, dress pants and dress shoes under their green robes. No jeans or athletic shoes. This ceremony is videotaped. DVD cost: Approx. $70
