HS - Academic/Service
Grade Levels:11– 12
Purpose:To create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students.
Months:Throughout the school year
Practice Day(s)/Time of the Week:We typically meet once a month. Time varies but it is usually on Fridays before school
Practice Location:HS Cafeteria
Meet/Competition/Performance Days/Times:We are responsible for the Operation Christmas Child shoe box gift collection for all campuses, peer tutoring, and organizing the servant-leadership brown bag luncheons in addition to other service projects.
Cost:Annual Dues are $10.00
Anticipated # of Students: 60
Expected Parent Involvement: None
Notes:To be invited to apply for membership, students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.6 and have the required minimum number of service hours based on their class. The students will then have to provide the following to be considered for membership: three teacher recommendations, a Personal Statement (250-500 word essay), and a completed Student Activity Information sheet.

NHS Officer applications are considered in mid-April.  See sponsor for details.
