Choosing a college or university to attend can be a pretty overwhelming decision. Luckily, CHCA has a great College Guidance program to assist students in choosing the school that will be the right academic, social, emotional and spiritual fit for them. With lots of individual attention, our experienced staff is here to share the best direction and information available. We’ll walk students and parents through the admission and financial aid process during junior and senior years, providing timely and effective communication throughout the process. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their discernment process with support from their parents and counselor. We even have our own college fair every fall on the high school campus with over 100 colleges and universities represented (and growing).

Some say the college search process can be painful, but we think it doesn’t have to be.

College Guidance program components at the junior and senior level:
 

• Whole-class workshops to discuss standardized testing, college preparation, and course selection; individual appointments as needed
• Evening program for juniors and parents in which college representatives speak on various topics relating to college admissions
• Individual, 1.5 hour conferences with juniors and their parents to discuss the college search, testing and college list

• Evening program to discuss the nuts and bolts of college application process
• College Application Marathons – counselors are available during designated times to assist seniors as they work on their applications
• Individual student appointments as needed to discuss application components
• College Financial Aid Seminar
