In addition to the examples listed below, we welcome your ideas on new ways to bless our students and families. Contact Anne Venters, Director of Advancement, to ask questions or discuss your gift.

Scholarships
Throughout our history, many generous donors have contributed to CHCA’s mission by setting up named and unnamed scholarships for financial aid, academic achievement, service learning trips, and more. Examples include:

  • The Schott International Student Scholarship Fund – started by Bill Schott to allow high school students from Eastern Europe, Guatemala and Mexico to spend a year at CHCA. Named scholarships like this one can be started with a minimum gift of $50,000.

  • The Hope Scholarship – funded by Sue and John Topits to help students and families suffering a severe, long term financial hardship and in need of hope.  This is targeted toward students living in Greater Cincinnati who desire to attend college.

Endowments
Endowments give an institution longevity that cannot be sustained by annual tuition. Simply put, an endowment is money set aside to accumulate earnings, which are restricted until distribution is authorized to fund the donor’s specific intent. Ideally, the earnings are the only part of the endowment that is ever distributed, therefore allowing the original fund amount to remain in the bank to accumulate interest in perpetuity. Some examples include:

  • The Lindner Scholars Program - a $28 million scholarship fund created to support Armleder students. In addition to supporting grade Preschool - 8 students at the Armleder campus, the program provides generous, need-based scholarships for up to eight current and qualified Armleder Lindner Scholars to attend CHCA’s Martha S. Lindner High School.

  • Teacher Incentive Endowment – created in 1999, this fund was established to recognize and reward faculty members who apply to receive this monetary award based on multiple criteria: family income level, number of dependents in the household, Christian role modeling in the classroom and Biblical integration in the classroom.

  • Tuition Affordability Endowment (TAE) – created in 2007 thanks to donations to the Promise Campaign from individual donors and the Psalms Foundation (established by Martha and Carl Lindner III), this endowment is designed to help current families who will be experiencing a rise in tuition a chance to offset those costs.  Determination of need is assessed by an outside firm, Independent School Management’s Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST).  To apply for tuition assistance, complete the FAST online application.

Facility Improvements
Resurfaced tennis courts, athletic equipment, the sound system in the Lindner Theater and landscaping are all examples of facility improvements that individual donors gave to CHCA. If you see a need and would like to help, contact Anne Venters.
