Any successful athlete or coach will tell you that the work put in on an early weekday morning, or in the extra hours after practice, makes all the difference in the outcome of a season. Congratulations to this week's Beacons of the Week, the grades 7-8 Boys' and Girls' Cross Country teams, who both won the MVC Championship at this week's meet! Check out their story here.

Enter your team into a Single Elimination, 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on 10/21/17. Boys/Girls teams, Gr 1-12 and Adult Brackets. Gr 1-6 meet at the Founders’ Campus Gym at 10:00 a.m. Gr 7-12/Adults meet at the HS Gym at 1:30 p.m. It is $60 per team which benefits CHCA Boys Basketball program. Charlotte Lee, Class of 2019, is launching a speaker series, Empowering Women in STEM , to encourage Upper School 9-12 students to learn about actual experiences of women in STEM fields, their educations, and obstacles they have faced. Meetings are the first Friday of the month, 7:20 – 7:55 a.m., November – May. Parent/Teachers Conferences are Wednesday, 10/25/17 and Thursday, 10/26/17. Registration is now open for CHCA’s PickATime Scheduling System to book your preferred times  - this is on a first-come basis! The sooner you log on and schedule your time with your teachers, the more choices you have. A confirmation will be sent via email as soon as you make your appointment. Scheduling for conferences closes Friday, 10/20/17 at 5 p.m.

The Sound of Music is a classic family favorite with its memorable songs “Edelweiss," “My Favorite Things," and "Do-Re-Mi". Director Susan Jung brings all the nuances of this story out through another extraordinary CHCA cast, and Music Director Dan Grantham helping to bring to life via live Orchestra. The Sound of Music opens Friday, 10/13/17 at 7:00 p.m.  Additional shows are 10/14/17 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and 10/15/17 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 online ($12 @ door) except the 2:00 p.m. matinee on 10/14/17 which is $6 online ($7 @ door). Get tickets online today! 

What an amazing time was had by all on October 6 at Homecoming Festival!  Rides, fabulous food, games, great entertainment…and BEAUTIFUL weather!  What a wonderful night of fellowship and celebrating CHCA!  Our heartfelt appreciation to all of the volunteers who pulled together to make this event a true success!  Without all of you this event would not have been possible!  THANK YOU!!!
