Any successful athlete or coach will tell you that the work put in on an early weekday morning, or in the extra hours after practice, makes all the difference in the outcome of a season. Upper 7-8 Information
The FreeStore reached out to our school and is in need of 500 coats for those in need: infant, toddler, children's, teen and adult coats. The coat give away will take place later this month at Rothenberg Preparatory in OTR. We will have barrels at the Upper School buildings today through Wednesday, 10/25. Thank you for your donations!
Kathie Baxter, school counselor for Gr 4-8, will be available to conference with parents Wednesday, 10/25/17, 4:30-8:30 p.m. To schedule an appointment, please email Kathie to request a time, and she will respond with a confirmation. If that evening is not convenient, she is also available for appointments on regular school days.
Today, Thursday, 10/12, 10:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. is Which Wich Spirit Night benefiting CHCA MS Football. 20% of the proceeds will benefit our team. Which Wich is located at Harper's Station.
Tomorrow, Friday, 10/13/17 we will be heading to Niederman Farm. Students are responsible for their own transportation there and back. Address: 5110 Lesourdsville West Chester Rd. Liberty Twp. OH 45011.

- Drop off for paintball AND festival at the "Paintball Country" building.
- Pick up is at 8:30 p.m. for both at the main farm entrance by the Big Top Tent. (This is where we will have pizza and smores).

Northwestern University's Midwest Academic Talent Search has provided CHCA with materials about academic enrichment and advanced testing opportunities. There is a fee to register and eligibility criteria apply. Contact Holly Metzger, Asst. Principal, if you would like more information.
Girls Bible Study led by Junior Abby Jutt; meets 7:15 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. in Mrs. Bowman's room W230 on select Fridays: 10/20, 11/17, and 12/01 for first semester. The girls will be using the YouVersion bible app studying "True Beauty Begins in the Heart" 30 day devotional for teenage girls.

Enter your team into a Single Elimination, 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on 10/21/17. Boys/Girls teams, Gr 1-12 and Adult Brackets. Gr 1-6 meet at the Founders’ Campus Gym at 10:00 a.m. Gr 7-12/Adults meet at the HS Gym at 1:30 p.m. It is $60 per team which benefits CHCA Boys Basketball program.
Charlotte Lee, Class of 2019, is launching a speaker series, Empowering Women in STEM , to encourage Upper School 9-12 students to learn about actual experiences of women in STEM fields, their educations, and obstacles they have faced. Meetings are the first Friday of the month, 7:20 – 7:55 a.m., November – May. Guest speakers are needed for January, and March - May . Parent/Teachers Conferences are Wednesday, 10/25/17 and Thursday, 10/26/17. Registration is now open for CHCA’s PickATime Scheduling System to book your preferred times - this is on a first-come basis! The sooner you log on and schedule your time with your teachers, the more choices you have. A confirmation will be sent via email as soon as you make your appointment. Scheduling for conferences closes Friday, 10/20/17 at 5 p.m.
The Sound of Music is a classic family favorite with its memorable songs “Edelweiss," “My Favorite Things," and "Do-Re-Mi". Director Susan Jung brings all the nuances of this story out through another extraordinary CHCA cast, and Music Director Dan Grantham helping to bring to life via live Orchestra. The Sound of Music opens Friday, 10/13/17 at 7:00 p.m. Additional shows are 10/14/17 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and 10/15/17 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 online ($12 @ door) except the 2:00 p.m. matinee on 10/14/17 which is $6 online ($7 @ door). What an amazing time was had by all on October 6 at Homecoming Festival! Rides, fabulous food, games, great entertainment…and BEAUTIFUL weather!
