Thank you to families who are participating in our community-wide effort to increase understanding of our Upper School philosophy, and start the conversation around how we as parents and school can most effectively partner together to raise Christ-minded young adults in this ever-changing world in which we live. There are several phases within this important effort. The first was reading the book distributed to all families, “How to Raise an Adult”. The next is signing up to participate in small groups. You will have the final opportunity to do that at our upcoming coffee talks (see details in All School News). A final important element of this initiative is to read CHCA's Approach to Upper School, a white paper.
Armleder Information
We are so looking forward to hosting Armleder grandparents and special friends next Friday, 10/06/17, 7:35 a.m (in the classrooms). Dismissal will begin immediately following the program with carpool dismissal at 10:55 a.m. You’ll have time for a leisurely lunch prior to heading up to the north campus for the Homecoming Festival activities. Please note that there is no parking in the school lot, no lunch service, and no after-school care. We’re celebrating, so students wear your CHCA spirit wear shirts with bottoms of your choice (refer to handbook dress code for non-uniform days).
Registration closes tonight, and late registration begins Friday, 09/29/17 for the FaithWalkers Dance Team ! Late registration ends Sunday, 10/08/17.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Taylor at diane.taylor@chca-oh.org.
Parents, thank you for adhering to our Handbook Guidelines about scheduling time with your child’s teacher(s). We know your schedules are busy. When you schedule in advance a mutually agreeable time, it’s a win-win situation. Armleder classroom teachers are devoting their full attention to your children while in the classroom and to you during your scheduled conference. Thank you for your partnership.
Our new parent coffee will take place on Friday, 10/13/17, at 8:00 a.m. in the Board Room. We will have a continental breakfast and a time of fellowship. This is an opportunity for new families to connect and ask questions. Please contact donna.furtwengler@chca-oh.org to RSVP.

This year, everyone who will or might want to volunteer at the school in any way must now first be fingerprinted and cleared if you have not been fingerprinted by the school within the past 5 years. It only takes about 5 minutes and is done in the Business Office, which has now moved into the house at 8247 E. Kemper. It is next to the new Welcome Center on the corner of Kemper and Snider, and directly across Kemper from the back of the high school. You can enter from the house’s driveway off of Kemper, or from the Snider auxiliary parking lot entrance. You can stop by between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. weekdays to be fingerprinted, but if you need a time outside those hours, we can accommodate you – just email sarah.ferguson@chca-oh.org. Thank you! We appreciate all of our wonderful volunteers!!
Dr. Dean Nicholas will be facilitating two open discussions on our community read, "How to Raise an Adult." Don't miss this opportunity to discuss the book and learn how some of the concepts from the book apply in our upper school. The coffee dates are 10/05/17 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Founders' Campus and 10/11/17 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the MSL Upper School. Parents of students of all ages are encouraged to participate in one of these two interactive sessions.
