All middle school and Armleder fifth, sixth, and seventh graders are invited to this interactive scavenger hunt on March 8th ... we'll travel around Cincinnati in small groups of 3-6 students to take digital photos based on a set of clues (with a few bonus items along the way). Afterwards, we'll gather at the middle school to see our photos on the big screen and to give out prizes to the top ten groups. It should be a ton of fun!
DetailsBasic Information
The cost of this social is $10/student and includes a bag of snacks (pretzels, fruit snacks, mints, and drink) and prizes for the top 10 groups. Drop-off/check-in (5:45-6pm) and pick-up (10pm) are both at the middle school gym, and students will not be allowed to leave the social without prior permission until parent pick-up at 10pm. To promote safety and keep fuel costs to a minimum, drivers will be asked to follow all traffic laws and remain within a 5-mile radius of the middle school. To eliminate bias, point totals are determined anonymously by a mathematical equation, but nevertheless students and parents should focus on having fun together (not on "winning" or "getting stuff").
The Groups
We’ll assign groups of 3-6 students based on seatbelt availability and friend requests. To make your friend request (and up to two backup friend requests), just fill out the applicable fields on your registration form and we’ll try our best to group you together with one of those students. We can’t guarantee a match, as lining up hundreds of students in dozens of cars (especially if we are short on seatbelts) is a very complex process, and preference will be given to families who volunteer to chaperone. In most cases,"arranged" cars do not work out as expected, simply because there are other students in your grade who unexpectedly request to be with students in that same car (and we, of course, will honor those friend requests as well) ... so please don't develop specific expectations until the group assignments are emailed out (to the email address on your registration form) the day before the social. Thanks!
What to Wear
Wear comfortable and appropriate clothes (crew-neck t-shirts/sweatshirts, jeans/shorts, etc), but avoid sleeveless shirts, shorter-than-fingertip shorts, skirts, or "fashion" outfits. Students who are not dressed appropriately will not be checked-in or admitted to the social until they have changed into appropriate clothes. Students are responsible for all clothing and belongings that they choose to bring to this social. Just remember, modest is hottest!
Parent Volunteers
Each group of students will need one parent chaperone to transport them around during this social. Volunteering is also a great chance to connect with other CHCA parents and observe the students interacting in a casual and fun environment, so if you'd like to help, just indicate your interest on your online registration form. Drivers will also be responsible for locating or providing a digital camera with an empty memory card for their group to use. Thanks so much!
RegistrationRegistration for the Photo Hunt Social closed on Friday February 22nd at 11:59pm. For security and efficiency reasons, we cannot accept late registrations.
If you have any questions or concerns (including registration or financial issues), please contact Lance Webel. Thanks, and hopefully we'll see you there!
